About
Me

My name is Natalie Hassall and I am currently at Birmingham City University, studying a Bachelor of Arts degree in media and communication. Media is an area that I am passionate about, specifically television as this is the pathway I have naturally taken within my university modules. I am excited by the innovative, fresh and new ways that television is being created and I am excited to be involved once I graduate. I have created a number of projects both professional and university based. These range from documentaries to studio-based quiz shows.

Work
experience
Shadowing Runner - Victoria
Mammoth Screen
May 2018

I was given the opportunity to work alongside and shadow members of the production team on Mammoth Screen’s production of Victoria, Series 3 for ITV. It was great experience working on a big budget period drama.

Scratch TV
BCU Society

Sept 2017 - May 2018

During my first year of university I joined this society based on creating student produced television, broadcasted live on social media I took on a number of different roles within the live studio setting, helping me gain the confidence and experience I need within the industry.

Performance/Production Assistant
Fierce Festival

October 2019

I worked as a performance/production assistant as Fierce Festival based in Birmingham. This meant I was in charge of guest lists and assisting the performers so their performance went to plan.

Stand-in - XFactor: The Band
ITV

December 2019

I was a stand-in for XFactor: The Band, during rehearsals, I was required to stand on the stage so the camera operators could block out the shots. This was valuable experience to see behind the scenes of a live studio show.

Seat Filler - Sports Personality of the Year Awards
BBC

December 2018

I was a seat filler as the Sports Personality of the Year Awards, which meant that my role was to fill the seats of sports personalities that could not make it or were called onto stage to ensure that the audience always looked full. It was amazing to be in a big scale live show rather than watch from behind the scenes.

Festival Volunteer

Seed Staff

June 2017

I volunteered to work at Blue Dot Festival in Cheshire. I worked within the production team to make sure that everything ran smoothly with people entering the festival.
